Why Tai Chi |

Tai Chi originated in China as a martial art, it start with low-impact, slow and continuous motion exercise, it is often described as “meditation in motion.” Tai Chi combines mental relaxation with deliberate, graceful movements that improve strength, agility and particularly important to everyone in all ages— balance.
To all age aspect Tai Chi improves balance and reduce falls and most of all reduce stress, a slow motion Tai Chi and slow circle walking would be a perfect mixture for older individual, but younger people probably need more of an aerobic challenge. Chen style Tai Chi offers both. First routine gives slowly and coiling motion as foundation, second routine offers a number of fast explosive energy release move along with higher aerobic requirements for more experienced people. All explosive movements were built on a basic also trademark of Chen style Tai Chi--silk reeling movement (Chan Si Jin 缠丝劲), the "silk reeling motion" is generated by the external coiling movements in the slow and relaxed first routine forms. The technique uses the smooth generation of energy for the explosive release in martial arts.
